2Tournament sanctions are requested online through CIF Home (www.cifsdshome.org) by a school administrator or coach. Please note that tournaments that are sanctioned and approved by the CIF San Diego Section will have a SANCTIONED NUMBER assigned to them.
Tournaments that do not have an assigned sanctioned number are not approved or still pending approval. Please contact the CIF San Diego Section Office for any questions, regarding tournament sanctions.
Tournament sanction deadlines:
Fall Sports - June 1
Winter Sports - September 1
Spring Sports - December 1

Tournament: Sanctioned Events
- CIF Tournament Sanctions are done online via CIF Home by a school administrator (Athletic Director). Requests are received via email and processed. The sanction fee is $25 if submitted by the following dates:
- Fall Sports Tournaments - June 1
- Winter Sports Tournaments - September 1
- Spring Sports Tournaments - December 1
- Any sanction request received after the deadline dates will be subject to an additional $100 late fee.
- Sanctions are approved once the dates are reviewed and payments are received. Approved sanctions will appear on the Approved CIFSDS Tournaments page and have an assigned sanction number.
- Officials associations will assign officials to tournaments that appear on the Tournaments page.
- NFHS online sanctioning only (www.nfhs.org) is required when:
- Any interstate or international (including Mexico and Canada) event involving two (2) or more schools which is co-sponsored by or titled in the name of an organization outside the school community.
- Events in non-bordering states if five (5) or more states are involved.
- Events in non-bordering states if more than eight (8) schools are involved.
- Any event involving two (2) or more schools that involves a team from a foreign country (including Mexico and Canada).
